Doing Devotions Together

We want you to take a look at what God is speaking to our church staff! This blog will help you to be encouraged by what others journal about. Also, it will assist you as you improve the way you journal. We use the SOAP system (Scripture, Observation, Application, and Prayer). To learn more about how the SOAP System works when doing daily devotions and journaling, click here!

Feel free to post some comments! We would love to interact with you and help you to learn how to be mentored directly by the Holy Spirit!

REDEEMING OUR DIFFICULTIES. By Pastor Fernando

Scripture:
Seventy years are given to us! Some may even reach eighty. But even the best of these years are filled with pain and trouble; soon they disappear, and we are gone... Give us gladness in proportion to our former misery! Replace the evil years with good. Let us see your miracles again; let our children see your glory at work. And may the Lord our God show us his approval and make our efforts successful. Yes, make our efforts successful!
Psalm 90:10, 15, 16, 17

Observation:
Moses here expresses a brief definition of reality--Life hurts, but God Heals. Moses was able to see the worse and best in his lifetime. He went from ups and downs, from being abandoned in the river, to be at Pharaoh’s palace, from being a prince to becoming a runaway criminal, from being a simple shepherd to becoming the greatest leader, and from being a simple man to becoming the most humble man on the face of the earth. In all these chapters Moses tastes bitterness, but he also tastes the joy of God’s redeeming power. Moses encourages us to see the redeeming power of God in each adversity.

Application:
We have a faithful God, always ready to display His amazing power in practical ways. I cannot experience the redeeming power of God unless there’s something to be redeemed. God’s favor trumps any difficulty. He redeems our bad experiences and fills our lives with good memories. Blessing cannot exit without a curse. Miracles cannot exist if there is no oppression. Success cannot exist without failure. Currently I’m facing a variety of difficult situations that need God’s intervention with His redeeming power. I need to see some miracles right now! there are marriages that need a miracle. There are children that need to be found. There is vision that needs to be funded. There’s space that we need to find. There’s leaders that need to step aside and leaders that need to step up. In all this circumstances I need to rest in the way Moses prayed to God. I need to seek God’s redemption of the difficult moments.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, please help me to trust in you above anything else. There’s a lot of roadblocks during this leg of the race. It seems that once we got some traction and momentum, some circumstances are increasing my concerns and I cannot see the best out of the worse. Please help me to have redemptive eyes into all these negative situations. Let me have the expectation of seeing miracles within each difficulty. Provide the money to fund your vision where there’s none. Provide new leaders where old ones are quitting. Provide healing where there’s is sickness. Provide movement where there’s has been hesitation. Please show us your approval and make our efforts successful. Amen.
