Doing Devotions Together

We want you to take a look at what God is speaking to our church staff! This blog will help you to be encouraged by what others journal about. Also, it will assist you as you improve the way you journal. We use the SOAP system (Scripture, Observation, Application, and Prayer). To learn more about how the SOAP System works when doing daily devotions and journaling, click here!

Feel free to post some comments! We would love to interact with you and help you to learn how to be mentored directly by the Holy Spirit!

DEPENDING ON YOU. By Pastor Fernando

SCRIPTURE
By wisdom a house is built,
and through understanding it is established;
through knowledge its rooms are filled
with rare and beautiful treasures.
Proverbs 24:3-4

OBSERVATION
We need wisdom to build a house, but there is more to it. We need to establish it with understanding, and then we need to fill it up with knowledge. Solomon is trying to communicate our dependence on God to build, establish and use our lives. Unless the Lord builds the house, the workers labor in vain. We cannot rely on yesterday's wisdom. We need today's understanding. We need the fresh knowledge of the Lord to make our lives a holy sacrifice before the Lord.

APPLICATION
We cannot become comfortable with the wisdom God gave us to build our lives in the past. We need to depend every day in the understanding and fresh knowledge of the Lord that will lead us today and tomorrow. Yesterday's favor is not guaranteed to endure forever. As graciously as it was given to us, it can be gone without a notice.

Certainly our church is a living proof of the way God build a house with wisdom. However, we cannot depend on the past glory to keep moving forward. We need to be established in understanding. We need God's knowledge to turn this church into what God wants. We need to be hungry and thirsty for his direction just as we were at the beginning. We cannot rely on past miracles or in the resources we have now. We are thankful for them, but we must continue trusting in his provision, walking by faith, and depending daily on His grace and mercy.

PRAYER
Dear heavenly Father, thank you so much for the wisdom you have given us to build our ministry aand my own life. Forgive me for the times I become complacent and comfortable. Give me a bigger hunger and thirst for your understanding and knowledge to keep moving forward according to your plan. Use our church to bring glory to your name, not just for the things of tha past five years, but for the thngs you are about to do today and tomorrow. Above all things, give us a greater heart hear of passion for you and compassion for your people. Amen!
